Dear Neighbor.
On November 4th, we have a chance to
restore accountability and visibility by our elected ANC
Commissioner. Our single member district is ANC 2C02.
Throughout ANC 2C02 people are frustrated that the
present ANC Commissioner is ineffective, not visible and
is not accountable to constituents concerns.
Today our ANC 2C02 single member district is
going backwards instead of forward. Our present
commissioner has spent two years being invisible and
ineffective for example trash in our alley’s and
sidewalks has accumulated. According to the Metropolitan
Police Departments weekly crime reports theft
burglaries, and vandalism has been on a steady increase,
lie has fostered the politics of division by attacking
fellow ANC 2C Commissioners using character
assassinations via his web site and news letter. This
has resulted in him being ineffective in get ting the
concerns of ANC 2C02 single member district passed on
the ANC Commission. His voting pattern has resulted in
deadlock because of the present commissioner‘s politics
of division.
Public safety in our ANC 2C02 single member district
is a major concern which our present
commissioner has done nothing to address. Our present
commissioner has done nothing to advocate on our behalf
concerning illegal construction. He has failed on a two
year promise to locate a dog park. He has abolished
recreational sites for our children. He has attacked
community leaders and community organizations with false
allegations in an attempt to scare them and further
divide our community.
On November 4thi vote for me and I will
with the help of God restore ANC 2C02 to order. I with
your vote and backing will bring our community issues to
the light such as economic development along 7111
street public safety, locate a dog park, work
with the other ANC 2C Commissioners to get the vote
needed to help our neighbors and deliver better city
services. I will get your alleys amid sidewalks
repaired; locate a place for kids to play instead of
hang on the streets. I will be visible, accessible and
reach’ to work for the good of all of our diverse
neighbors.
Vote for me and I w ill work hard to
make it all happen.
Sincerely,
Leroy Thorpe
