Mahdi Leroy Joseph Thorpe, Jr., is a
man of faith, a family man and a tireless community
servant committed to a safe and healthy environment
for his family and all the residents of Shaw. He is
the product of a first generation American father
(who was born in Harlem, NY and of Bajan decent) and
an African American mother who grew up in the
segregated South. This union provided the strong
foundation which instilled the morals and values
that Mr. Thorpe has used to guide his life.
